FP Markets broker is the brand name of a group of companies founded in 2005, and its international clients contract with FP Markets Ltd, registered in Saint Lucia. In terms of licenses and credibility scores, FP Markets ranks among the top international brokers, but its client agreement explicitly excludes Iran from its services. In this overview, we review FP Markets based on Teagle's data.
What kind of broker is FP Markets?
FP Markets has about 21 years of history and, with registrations in several jurisdictions, serves a broad audience. According to Teagle's account table, more than 10,000 trading instruments are available to users, and trading is done on MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and the proprietary FP Markets app. Teagle's analyst described the broker's legal structure as "very strong" and named segregated client funds, its agency model, fast execution and negative balance protection as its strengths.
FP Markets licenses and credibility
Teagle's license list records the following for FP Markets:
- ASIC Australia (ABN 16112600281), active;
- FSCA South Africa (FSP 50926), active;
- FSA Seychelles (SD130), active; an offshore license;
- Saint Lucia (2025-00853), active; the offshore registration international clients fall under;
- CySEC Cyprus (371/18), for which no status is recorded.
The key point is that international clients' accounts are opened with the Saint Lucia company, not the Australian or Cypriot entity; so the protection of tier-1 regulators does not cover everyone. To understand this difference, read the article the difference between offshore and onshore brokers and the guide broker regulation tiers .
Does FP Markets serve Iranians?
No. Clause 2-1 of the client agreement states that the platform is not intended for citizens or residents of certain jurisdictions and names Iran alongside the United States, Australia, Japan, North Korea, Iraq and Belgium. The broker's website has no Persian language, and accessing it from Iran requires changing your IP. This means any account opened with an Iranian identity is outside the broker's agreement and at risk of being blocked. On this risk, see the article brokers prohibited for Iranians .
FP Markets trading accounts
FP Markets has two main floating-spread accounts, both with a minimum deposit of $100, a minimum size of 0.01 lot, leverage up to 1:500, a 100% margin call, a 50% stop-out and an Islamic version, and neither has requotes:
- Standard account: commission-free with spreads from 1 pip; suited to traders who accept the cost in the spread.
- RAW account: raw spreads from zero and a $6 commission per lot; suited to high-volume traders.
To choose between the two, the comparison of ECN and standard accounts helps you calculate the real cost of each trade.
FP Markets platforms and services
Platform variety is one of FP Markets' strengths: MetaTrader 4 and 5, cTrader, a TradingView connection and a proprietary app. We explain the general way to connect a broker account to TradingView in the guide to connecting a broker account to TradingView . Additional services include copy trading, social trading, PAMM and MAM, VPS, an IB program, a demo account, education, an economic calendar and calculators. One important note: despite the scalping and EA labels, according to Teagle's analyst the agreement prohibits the use of EAs without written permission and describes scalping as abusive behavior. If you use EAs and trading robots , take this clause seriously.
Deposits and withdrawals at FP Markets
Payment methods include credit cards, e-wallets, bank wire and crypto. The minimum deposit is $100 for all methods, and the broker charges no fees for deposits and withdrawals. E-wallet deposits take up to one hour, card and wire deposits up to 1 business day, and withdrawals take up to 5 business days; crypto timing depends on the network. An inactivity fee is also among the recorded drawbacks.
FP Markets' score and risk on Teagle
FP Markets' final score on Teagle is 4.41 out of 5, drawn from three sources: Trustpilot 4.8, WikiFX 4.44 and Teagle's analyst 4; Teagle user ratings have not yet been recorded. Its Teagle Eye risk index is 17 out of 100, in the "low risk" category, which reflects its active licenses, high credibility scores and 21-year history. See where it stands in the low-risk broker rankings ; but this index does not mean Iranians can trade with it.
FP Markets pros and cons
- Pro: reputable regulation, segregated funds and negative balance protection
- Pro: platform variety (MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView) and more than 10,000 instruments
- Pro: no broker fees on deposits and withdrawals
- Con: Iran is excluded from services under clause 2-1 of the agreement
- Con: EAs banned without written permission and a negative view of scalping in the agreement
- Con: inactivity fee, $100 minimum deposit and no Persian language
Who is FP Markets suitable for?
In the view of Teagle's analyst, FP Markets suits professional traders and those who trade manually, especially if segregated funds and an agency model are a priority for them. It is not a suitable option for users living in Iran. If you live outside Iran, weigh it against an Australian rival in the FP Markets vs Pepperstone comparison .
Conclusion
In terms of credibility and features, FP Markets is one of the strongest international options, but its agreement explicitly excludes Iran. If you are permitted to use it, start with a small amount, read the clauses on EAs and scalping, make a test withdrawal and follow the investment risk warnings .
