Indicator Lab
Don't just read about indicators, test them: change the settings on real gold, dollar, Bitcoin and currency-pair candles, see the signals and check how often they were right in the past.
6 Indicator on xauusd
RSI (Relative Strength Index)
The speed and strength of price moves between zero and 100; for overbought and oversold levels, the 50 line and divergence.
MACD
The gap between two exponential moving averages; it shows the trend and its momentum with a signal line and histogram.
Moving averages (SMA and EMA)
The simplest trend tool; crossovers of fast and slow averages and dynamic support and resistance.
Bollinger Bands
A 20-period average and two bands a standard deviation away; they show volatility, squeezes and moves back inside the band.
Stochastic
Where the close sits within the range of the last few candles; %K and %D crossovers in the overbought and oversold zones.
ATR (Average True Range)
The size of moves, not their direction; for stop-loss distance and trade size.
How does the lab work?
- 1
Choose an indicator
Each page shows that indicator's current reading on gold, the dollar, Bitcoin and euro/dollar.
- 2
Try it in the playground
Change the symbol and timeframe and adjust the settings with the sliders; signals are marked on the chart.
- 3
Check the signals
See what percentage of signals were in the right direction 5, 10 or 20 candles later, and read the summary card and full guide.
Indicator Library
Not a buy or sell recommendation
Teagle's indicator lab is educational and not a recommendation to buy or sell. The «signal check» only says how often past signals on these same candles were in the right direction some candles later; fees, spread and stop losses are not included, and past results are no guarantee of the future. Decisions and risk management are the trader's own.
