XTB broker is one of the best-known European brokerages. Operating since 2004 with a focus on technology, transparency and compliance with regulatory standards, it offers trading in forex, stocks, indices, commodities, ETFs and cryptocurrencies through a single account. In this overview, the Teagle editorial team reviews XTB's licenses, account, platform, costs and restrictions for Iranian users based on Teagle data.
What kind of broker is XTB?
XTB has around 22 years of history and is listed on Teagle under Poland. The broker offers more than 2500 instruments on its proprietary xStation platform, and its additional services are education, social trading and an economic calendar. Teagle's tags list deposit insurance, instant verification, news trading, phone trading and scalping. Two-factor authentication and a dedicated cybersecurity page are also counted among its strengths. According to Teagle's expert, XTB ranks high in terms of security, transparency and service quality.
XTB broker licenses and credibility
Teagle's license list records five bodies for XTB:
- FCA (UK) (No. 522157) – active;
- CySEC (Cyprus) (No. 169/12) – active;
- DFSA (Dubai) (No. F006316) – active;
- KNF (Poland) (No. 0000217580) – status not recorded in Teagle data;
- FSCA (South Africa) (No. FSP 49970) – status not recorded in Teagle data.
According to Teagle's FAQ, the entity you contract with depends on your country of residence; XTB provides services through several companies supervised by the FCA, CySEC, KNF and an entity in Belize, and each client's level of legal protection varies accordingly. The Belize entity offers far less protection than the European regulators. To understand this difference, read the guide to broker regulation tiers and the article offshore vs. onshore brokers .
Does XTB serve Iranians?
No. XTB has officially stated that it does not accept users residing in Iran; this restriction is applied due to anti-money laundering laws, international sanctions and client acceptance policies, and your country of residence is checked when opening an account. There is no Persian website or support, and Teagle's tags list "IP change required". According to Teagle's expert, XTB also has no crypto deposits or withdrawals; all transactions are made by card, bank transfer or international e-wallets, which are unavailable to most users inside Iran due to sanctions.
XTB trading account
Teagle data lists one Standard account: no minimum deposit, no commission, floating spread, leverage up to 1:30, 50% stop-out, no-requote execution and an Islamic account option. 1:30 leverage is the usual cap set by European bodies for retail clients; on the effect of leverage, see the article leverage and leveraged trading . Teagle's expert does not consider this broker suitable for scalpers who need raw spreads.
Stock and ETF trading costs at XTB
Stock and ETF trading at XTB is commission-free up to €100,000 in monthly volume, after which a 0.2% fee is charged. If you trade in a currency different from your account's base currency, a 0.5% currency conversion fee also applies. So "commission-free" does not mean all costs are gone. An inactivity fee is also listed among this broker's drawbacks. If your goal is long-term investing, read the articles ETFs and their benefits and the difference between investing and trading .
XTB trading platforms
XTB does not offer MetaTrader; trading is done only on the proprietary xStation platform, in desktop and web versions. This platform is one of XTB's main advantages, but it is not a good option for those who need MetaTrader.
Deposits and withdrawals at XTB
The listed methods include credit card, bank transfer, Skrill and PayPal, none of which has a minimum deposit. Card and Skrill deposits are free and instant, bank transfers take up to 3 business days, and PayPal carries a 0.85% fee. Withdrawals under €100 incur a €10 fee across all methods.
XTB's rating and risk on Teagle
XTB's final score on Teagle is 3.64 out of 5: Teagle expert 4.1, WikiFX 3.86, Trustpilot 3.7 and Forex Peace Army 2.9; no Teagle user reviews have been posted yet. The Teagle Eye risk index for this broker is 21 out of 100, in the "low to medium risk" category; tier-one licenses and a long track record have kept the risk low. Pros and cons of XTB broker
- Pro: FCA, CySEC and DFSA oversight and more than two decades of history
- Pro: proprietary xStation platform and more than 2500 instruments
- Pro: two-factor authentication and no minimum deposit
- Con: does not accept users residing in Iran; no Persian website or support

Who is XTB suitable for?
In the view of Teagle's expert, XTB suits Persian speakers living in countries not on the restricted list who are interested in real investment in stocks and ETFs. It is not suitable for users residing in Iran, those who want Persian support, scalpers or MetaTrader users. For a comparison with another stock-focused broker, see the XTB vs. eToro comparison .
Conclusion
XTB ranks high in credibility and service quality, but these advantages cannot be used by users inside Iran. If you live outside Iran, check the entity you contract with, start with a small amount, make a test withdrawal and follow new warnings on Teagle's risk warning page .
