Credibility and Global Standing of the 1inch Exchange
1inch is one of the well-known protocols in the DeFi space and among decentralized exchange aggregators. According to 1inch's official report, this exchange processed more than 155 billion dollars in swap volume in 2024. The platform has undergone several security audits. In addition, given the non-custodial and decentralized nature of this exchange, users' assets are not placed directly in 1inch's custody.
Has the 1inch exchange ever been hacked?
According to an official announcement from 1inch, the exchange faced a cyberattack in October 2024 in which a third-party library used in the user interface was compromised and some wallets were put at risk, but 1inch's protocols and wallet were not affected. Also, another report notes that in December 2024 unauthorized access to a private key occurred and funds from one of the contracts were moved, but according to 1inch, protocol users' assets were not exposed to theft.

Costs and Fees on the 1inch Exchange
The cost of using 1inch as a decentralized exchange aggregator (DEX Aggregator) involves different fees depending on the trading mode and the order execution method. Carrying out transactions on the blockchain requires paying network and infrastructure costs. Depending on the trade route, these costs are paid either by the user or by the order fillers (Resolvers). Below, we look at the different types of 1inch fees:
- Network Gas Fees: The cost of processing a transaction on the blockchain network.
- Infrastructure Fees: An API layer fee for maintaining the routing infrastructure, charged to the user in direct aggregator trades.
- Swap Surplus: The profit from favorable price changes (positive slippage) during the trade, which is captured and retained by the API provider.
- Protocol-Level Fees: Fees approved by DAO governance for certain interactions, including trades against 1inch Aqua positions.
It is worth noting that deposits and withdrawals on 1inch are non-custodial, and there is no need to deposit assets to the exchange or withdraw them from it. Users simply connect their decentralized wallet to the platform and execute trades directly from their personal wallet.

User experience of the 1inch app
Based on user reviews, the app has a very simple, modern design and is fast at executing transactions and finding the best rates. However, some users have reported technical glitches after certain updates (such as bugs with logging in, search and swap functions) and an initial lack of transparency in how gas fees are displayed. In response, the 1inch development team actively follows up on user feedback and works to fix issues and add requested features.
