In the fast-paced world of cryptocurrencies, choosing the right exchange can make a big difference to the profitability of your trades. After security, which is a vital factor in choosing a crypto exchange, perhaps the most important criterion is the trading fee. In this article, we introduce 10 Iranian and international exchanges with the lowest fees and go over key points to help you make a more informed choice.

There are currently many Iranian crypto exchanges operating without fees under the supervision of the Central Bank. This large number has made finding the best option harder. In this article, we review Iranian exchanges such as Novin Tether, Arzpaya, Nobitex, Eritron and Bitpin. On the other side, we also look at Orbit, Binance, KuCoin, Bybit and Bitunix as international options.

What is a crypto exchange fee and why does it matter?

On a blockchain network, executing every transaction involves a fee, which the crypto exchange deducts from the user's account. The amount of a crypto exchange fee depends on many factors, such as the network and platform used, and so it varies and differs for each currency.

Each network guarantees blockchain security in a different way based on its consensus algorithm. Some of these algorithms are carried out by miners and some by validators. Miners and validators expect a reward or incentive for securing these operations. So a mechanism has been designed whereby the reward for miners and validators is collected from the transaction's creator as a network fee.

In general, there are 6 different types of transaction fees on a crypto exchange, which we review below.

  1. Network fee

For every transaction to be successfully completed on a blockchain network, a network cost or fee is paid. The actual fee you pay depends on various factors, including the blockchain network used and the time of day the transaction is made.

  1. Crypto exchange fee

Every exchange charges you a fee for using its platform, which can be considered similar to the commission stock brokerages charge on each share trade.

  1. Trading fee

The commission that you pay the exchange for successfully executing a tradeis the commission, or trading fee. In fact, the trading fee is the main source of income for any exchange. On a crypto exchange, the trading fee can be charged in the cryptocurrency traded or even in fiat currency.

  1. Deposit fee

Some platforms charge a fee for depositing cryptocurrency to the exchange. However, most exchanges do not charge a fee, to encourage users to be active on their platform.

  1. Withdrawal fee

You sometimes have to pay a fee when withdrawing as well. This fee is often even higher than the deposit fee. It is charged when the user wants to transfer their cryptocurrency to another wallet, convert it to fiat currency or deposit it to a bank account.

  1. Loan fee

Margin trading, or borrowing money from the exchange to trade, also involves a fee. This fee is often set as an interest rate and a fixed amount.

The slightest difference in any of these fees can have a significant impact on your final profit.

Iranian crypto exchanges with the lowest fees

5 Iranian crypto exchanges with the lowest fees

In Iran, with the growth of the crypto market, many exchanges are operating. Iranian exchange fees are often competitive and variable. But you should remember that even if an exchange offers you the lowest crypto exchange fee , guaranteeing the security of your capital is still the most important factor.

For example, the Eritron crypto exchange announced some time ago that it had come to the end of the road. Something like this can put your capital at risk.

Next, we look at 5 Iranian crypto exchanges that offer the lowest fees: Novin Tether, Arzpaya, Nobitex, Wallex and Bitpin

1- Novin Tether exchange

Novin Tether claims to charge the lowest fee among Iranian exchanges for buying and selling Tether, and that no fee is required when buying on this exchange. Also, you will not need to pay a fee for in-network peer-to-peer transfers. Novin Tether claims that if, for example, you want to transfer money to another user account, there will be no fee.

The exchange also claims that when withdrawing in Rial you will pay a fee of 5000 Toman, and when transferring Tether to a wallet the fee is a fixed 1.5 Tether. This amount decreases in tiers based on the number and volume of users' transactions.

  • Fee for buying Tether on Novin Tether: free
  • Rial withdrawal fee: 5,000 Toman
  • Fee for transferring Tether to a wallet: 1.5 Tether and lower
  • Minimum deposit: 1,000 Toman
  • Minimum withdrawal: 3 Tether
  • Bank gateways: 15 bank gateways

2- Arzpaya exchange

In lists of exchanges with the lowest fees, the arzpaya exchange always appears. Arzpaya has two types of fees. The crypto network fee, which is deducted from your assets during transfers. As a trading fee, this exchange charges customers a fixed 0.2 percent. Also, trades in the exchange's store section are fee-free, and only the difference between the buy and sell price of the cryptocurrency is charged.

Arzpaya's daily deposit limit is 25 million Toman. For larger withdrawals it uses ID-based deposits, and its maximum deposit amount per 24 hours is 200 million Toman.

The deposit fee on Arzpaya is 25,000 Toman.

  • Buying fee on Arzpaya: free
  • Arzpaya store trading fee: free
  • Rial withdrawal fee: 25 thousand Toman per 25 million Toman
  • ID-based withdrawal limit: 200 million Toman
  • Daily withdrawal limit: 500 Tether

This exchange is a good choice for those looking for day trading.

3- Nobitex exchange

Nobitex is one of the oldest Iranian exchanges. The trading fee on Nobitex is calculated as a percentage of the total amount, and you can see it in full in the table below. This fee is charged on both sides of the trade.

Fees on the Nobitex exchange are a percentage of the volume of the asset you request. If you want to receive Rial by selling Bitcoin, the percentage fee is deducted in Rial, and conversely, if you want to buy Bitcoin with Rial, the fee is calculated in Bitcoin.

Remember that fees on this exchange differ for maker and taker orders.

Nobitex also claims  that its Toman deposit and withdrawal fees are zero and that you only pay the cost of the country's banking network and payment facilitators.

Nobitex offers special discounts for professional users with high trading volume.

4- Wallex exchange

Wallex is a well-known international exchange that offers many cryptocurrencies. To keep costs fair, it calculates the exchange fee in tiers according to the amount requested by the user. The base fee on Wallex is 0.35% and drops to 0.1% at higher levels and larger volumes.

In Tether trades, Wallex's base fee is fixed at 0.2 percent of the trade amount.

Wallex's withdrawal fee varies depending on the cryptocurrency, the blockchain network and its traffic. For exact information, on the Wallex fees page go to the «Coin deposit and withdrawal fees» section.

The deposit fee on this exchange is 0.2% of the amount for Toman deposits and varies by network type for cryptocurrencies.

In the table below you can see the pros and cons of this exchange:

5- Bitpin exchange

On the Bitpin exchange, fees vary and depend on 3 parameters: monthly trading volume, asset balance and order type (taker or maker). An important point about this exchange is that Toman and Tether fees are the same.

Fees for different trading levels on the Bitpin exchange

Asset volume on Bitpin is the Toman equivalent of the combined Toman and Tether balance of each user's account, which is calculated at the end of each night at (23:59) and becomes the basis for the next day's fee.

Withdrawal fee on the Bitpin exchange

Bitpin's crypto withdrawal fee is listed per currency on the exchange's website. To view it, go to the withdrawal fee tab on the fees page.

Note that the fee for Paya and Satna transfers, in accordance with Central Bank rules, is calculated from your wallet as 0.02 percent of the requested amount, per 50 million Toman. For example, the fee for withdrawing 800 thousand Toman will be 2000 Toman and the fee for withdrawing 110 million Toman will be 14000 Toman.

Also, the difference between the actual market price and the price you end up paying in a buy or sell order is effectively a kind of indirect fee that you should take into account when trading.

  • Trading fees at Bitpin: starting from 0.35% down to 0 (depending on user level, trade type and trading volume)
  • Rial withdrawal fee: free + bank transaction costs
  • Minimum purchase at Bitpin: 100 thousand Toman

When choosing a crypto exchange, although fees have a significant impact on your profit, you should not focus on fees alone. There are many factors that could put your entire capital at risk. As mentioned earlier, the amount of fees paid is one of the most important factors determining a trader's profit and loss. Most exchanges, whether domestic or global, charge fees for their services, which  mainly fall into three main groups: withdrawal fees, network and transaction fees, and of course deposit fees.

So depending on the network, the payment method, etc., it is clear that crypto exchange fees vary, and each exchange and each coin has a different figure. That is why determining the exact fee is not simple. Still, in the table above you can see a list of the lowest-fee Iranian and international crypto exchanges.

You can also find your answer by asking other readers in the comments, or share your own experience of choosing a low-fee crypto exchange.
